Lent Steps Challenge

My fundraising challenge this year is about to begin and is a bit different to my usual epic cycling, running or walking challenges.

For 2022, there are 2 special features of the challenge:

Firstly, it's going to take place over the whole of the six weeks of Lent. In addition to giving up cake, biscuits and chocolate (as usual), I'm going to do something positive and that's to walk 10,000 steps  a day (measured using the health app on my phone). The main element of this challenge is to do it every day - not an average of 10,000 but actually to complete 10,000 steps every day from Ash Wednesday (2 March) to Good Friday (15 April).

So, come what may - whether on holiday, travelling, even on a day when I'm working all day - it'll be 10,000 steps!

Secondly, the majority of the money will go towards buying food for our children in Chipata. We have been asked by the local social services in Chipata to help the carers/families of our children with food packages as families are struggling to feed their children.

We've sent a sum of money in February and the Committee have bought and distributed sacks of soya beans, mealie meal (maize flour) and kapenta (dried fish), bottles of cooking oil, packets of salt and bags of sugar. But the need is great!

If you can help, please support the challenge. You can donate using the button below or by sending a cheque (made payable to St Paul's Children's Project) to the address below.

Thank you!
